Largely anticipated powertrain layout of the new nsx was finally revealed. The car is going to be powered by a mid-mounted twinturbo V6, and it will feature a new all-wheel drive system, which will deliver better handling and improved fuel economy, Honda claims.
I am really interested for this little car for last few days. It's light and has planty of power. with it's small 1.6 engine it can't be spending too much fuel. I know there are newer versions of it but I still love it, and I love the looks of it. Simple as it can be, and looking beautiful lowered with nice rims and not to expensive. I would love to own this thing. Too bad I'm just a collage student with no money :( Here are some more pictures of this little beast: Normal 2014 Camaro Z/28 had a pretty good LS7 v8 engine, putting down also pretty good, 505 horses. Guys from Callaway decided that wasn't enough so they decided to bolt on an Eaton TVS2300 LS7 supercharger system raising the horse power by 147 HP ( a Honda CR-V 2.0i power output ), giving the car all together 652 HP.
It's called Callaway Camaro Z/28 SC652. Hmm... where did they come up with those numbers? On February 14th 2014. Hennessey Venom GT accelerated to 270.49 mph ( 435.31 km/h) taking the place of the fastest production car, beating Bugatti Veyron Super Sport by just
.63 mph. This was the second Hennessey attempt and they finally succeeded. In 2013 they were able to reach 269.86 mph but it wasn't enough to beat Bugatti. The Venom is powerd by a 7.0- liter twin turbo V8 from GM. The acceleration from 20-120 mph lasted only 7.71 seconds and the max pulling longitudinal acceleration was at 1.2 g. The only problem is that the record was not accepted by Guiness because of complicated rules. But still, an amazing car. There were many fears related to the speed of this years F1 cars. But because of aerodynamics and lower air resistance cars are faster then before.
Nico Rosberg said: "We are extraordinary fast in a straight line and I expect us to achieve speeds over 360 km/h in Monza." Nico Rosberg was able to around the track in time for only around second slower then last years pole position. There were 7 red flags which means teams have a lot to do util the season starts.
Next teasting will be next week, again in Bahrein. OPC made this beast lighter and the expected horsepower is around 360 which is 80 more then standard OPC Astra. The look of the car is obviously changed and it looks like a true race car. The whole car will be unveiled on Geneva Motor Show.
Young McLarens driver Kevin Magnussen scored the fastest time on the second day of pre-season testing. On supersoft tires he was able to beat F1 stars like Alonso, Rosberg and Vettel. He set the best time at 1:34:910 which is better for a second and a half then Hulkenbergs the day before.
PS I apologize for misleading news yesterday. On the first day of Bahrain test, the best time was set by Nico Hulkenberg. After 79 laps he was able to achieve 1:36.880 which led him to the top of the chart.
He'll be back in the seat today and Sergio Perez will have his chance on Friday and Saturday. Nico Hulkenberg: “A very positive and satisfying day. We had a busy programme and we learned a lot. Time in the car is very valuable at the moment and so it feels good to cover so many laps and even complete two long runs at the end of the day. That gave me a chance to see how the car behaves and to start getting a feel for it, which was not something I was able to do in Jerez. It’s great that we’ve already done some set-up work and started to improve the drivability of the car. But it’s still very early stages; we are learning with every lap and we face a very steep learning curve in the coming days. ” Otmar Szafnauer, Chief Operating Officer: “Our Bahrain test has got off to a positive start. 79 laps is a good effort and it’s just what we need at this early stage of the VJM07’s development. The aero work this morning ran smoothly with the constant speed runs giving us some aero data we required. In the afternoon we started evaluating the soft and medium tyres, and running through different set-up options – changing ride heights and rebalancing the car. We ended the day with a couple of longer runs on the soft tyres.” |
